Observability before the incident

Useful monitoring starts with clear service signals, not dashboard volume. Logs, metrics, traces, and alerts need ownership.

Good observability is not a wall of dashboards. It is the ability to answer practical questions quickly: what changed, what is slow, what is failing, who is affected, and what should happen next.

For AWS teams, that usually means clear CloudWatch metrics, structured logs, traces where they matter, and alerts connected to service ownership.

The point is faster diagnosis and calmer operations.
